CHARITON VALLEY SPORTS LEAGUE The Unionville Youth Recreation League plays softball and baseball in the Chariton Valley Association which includes the towns of Green City, Mercer, Milan, Newtown, Galt and Princeton. Some of the teams also play in Trenton. Children may sign up in the spring of each year to join a team. Baseball and softball are offered for a variety of ages. The age groups are broken down as follows: T-BALL: Boys & Girls, ages 3-5 GIRLS: 6-9 10-12 13-15 BOYS: 6-8 Pee Wee 9-10 Bantam 11-12 Midgets 13-15 Pony 16-18 Sr. Babe Ruth Sign-up for the season is done in late March or early April each year, and information about the sign-up dates and times is published in the county newspaper. Games begin in late May and continue through June. With the exception of T-Ball, there is a tournament at the end of the season for each age group. The tournaments are generally played around the Fourth of July. The Unionville teams will play the following teams: Green City, Mercer, Milan, Newtown, and Princeton, and some teams will play Galt and Trenton.
